Today is an amazing day! The sun is shining, my hair and make up are done to perfection, Im loving my outfit and adorning some really cute, new fuchsia rockabilly style suede heels. In such a fabulous mood, I decide to switch things up a little and take out the Renault 5, this car has been left standing for way too long. Once again this good girl doesn’t let me down and she fires up well but while revving it to warm up the engine, I spot black smoke pluming out of the exhaust in the rear view mirror. I try to clear the smoke by revving harder but it keeps on coming, blowing away gravel from the floor & staining the driveway black. Slowly it dies off and I put it down to the car being sat for so long. Just as I’m about to leave I realise I had forgotten to bring my lipstick, returning to fetch it when I come back, something has gone terribly wrong. The R5 no longer wants to enjoy a day on the roads with me it seems. The car splutters, whinnys and teases me while I crank it. It fires up by idles and revs very roughly before cutting out, over and over. I plead with the car to start, I don’t want to ruin my shoes by pumping the pedal too much but it’s the only thing keeping the car alive when it does decide to cooperate and start up for me…
