It’s a bright summer afternoon. She’s dressed in her lightest summer dress, elegance and freedom in every movement, and she wears high heels. She has to be at the theatre by four — but time is running out. Sliding into her car, she turns the key. The engine stirs, sputters, then dies. Again. Her foot works the pedal with growing urgency, rhythm and frustration blending as seconds slip away. She has to try it barefoot. The heat rises, tension builds — will the engine catch, or will her moment on stage vanish before it begins?
